These days, Health and Safety is a key requirement for anyone who owns or runs a business. With over 28 million working days lost to work-related illness and injury in 2013/14 in the UK (source: HSE), it makes financial sense to live up to your duty of care.

Emergency First Aid Duration: 1 day

Where an organisation’s risk assessment of First Aid needs identifies that there is a requirement for emergency practitioners in the workplace this national Award in Emergency First Aid at Work satisfies the most basic requirements of the regulatory body – the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

First Aid at Work Duration: 3 days

This comprehensive 3 day course covers a wide range of first aid emergencies, enabling all participants to deal with an emergency situation with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective manner. This course will give participants a qualification at the highest level of first aid, meeting the statutory requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

Working at Height and Escape Procedures Duration: Half day

Kicking off with a look at Work at Height regulations, attendees are shown how to plan and assess risks when working at height. Anchor systems are covered and discussions include fall protection methods and suspension trauma. Contact us for availability and to discover more.

Manual Handling Duration: Half day

This course is particularly suited for those who are regularly asked to carry out tasks involving lifting and aims to show how to safely handle a variety of loads. With a review of the Manual Handling Regs (1992) and practical demonstrations, this ITSSAR accredited course finishes with practical and theory tests. Contact us to discuss upcoming dates.

Manual Handling – Instructor (train the trainer) Duration: 3 to 5 days

An intensive course for employees who have been selected to carry out manual handling instruction in the workplace. Starting with a review of Health and Safety legislation the course looks at teaching principles and techniques, and planning for both classroom and practical lessons.

Finishing with a retest to Instructor standard, all successful attendees will receive an ITSSAR operator’s certificate. Call us to find out more about this course for all those who’ll be instructing others.

Abrasive Wheels Duration: Half day

According to the HSE, nearly half of all accidents involving abrasive wheels are due to unsafe working practices or operator error. This training course covers off the PUWER98 regulations and looks at the characteristics and types of abrasive wheels. A discussion of typical hazards and precautions as well as inspection routines and mounting procedures is included. Contact us or see course dates on our training planner.

IOSH: Working Safely Duration: 1 day

Aimed at all employees, particularly non-managerial staff and first line supervisors who have had little or no Health & Safety training, and meets their basic H&S needs. With an insight into their responsibilities and how to identify risks and hazards, this IOSH accredited course ends with a test and hazard spotting exercise. Call us to find out more.

IOSH: Managing Safely Duration: 4 days

This modular, IOSH accredited course is primarily for managerial and supervisory staff with limited Health & Safety training. Addressing their needs in the light of development in safety and health legislation, it looks at how to manage safely and assess and control risks.
